Best practices

When viewing the article these were the 3 items that stuck out to me the most: 4. ADD VISUAL ELEMENTS This one to me is the most important because when using Tik Tok one of the main elements that draws the attention of users are the visuals. They are there to keep the viewers entertained and give them a more clear understanding to your video or to keep them interested. Having good visuals help your videos stand out and entertain viewers. 4. Know thy user. This tip is very important because when you know what your viewers like and want to see, it allows you to create great content that the viewer feels connected to and interested in. This also allows you to obtain a fanbase of people who are interested in the same topic which helps you to create more personal content. I personally follow a youtuber that makes content about my favorite game and keeps me entertained.  2. INCLUDE KEYWORDS Although a very simple tip it is still very important and effective. Using keywords allow yo...

Week 5 blog

This week for my classes I completed discussion assignments, research post, coding challenges, and finished an adobe illustrator project. I discussed with classmates the importance of an about me/us page for a website and the impact it can leave with viewers.  I also completed these simple coding markups to create a simple change to pages such as the following.: The most time consuming project I finished was to make a blurry png image and tweaked the photo using adobe illustrator to make the image more clear and less pixelated. Although it looks simple the process is very time consuming. This was the result: Overall this week of classes was time consuming and prevented me from doing anything this weekend but I completed all the work on time and am ready for next week.

week 4 blog

This week was not filled with as much assignments as I usually have. Pretty much all my assignments were writing based work such as discussion post and research post.  The main topics that I reviewed this week were about us pages and their importance, the difference between elements and principles in graphics design, and the importance of structure and maintenance of websites. All these different topics I learned in my classes really do mix well with each other and using all the topics correctly would help to create an amazing website. Not much else to say about this weeks work as there was not much assignments this week. Stay tuned to see what other projects and assignments I complete.

About me

My name is Dylan Cantu and I am from San Antonio, Texas. I am a current Northwest College student studying digital media. This is my personal blog covering my activities throughout my college courses.  I will be going over what activities I completed or actively working on as well as explaining how these activities benefit me. I am actively going to school and completed new classes, so with my firsthand experience I am able to show what the life of a student looks like on a weekly basis.  While compiling all my assignments and projects in my blog, this may help you if you are planning to attend Northwest Vista College and pursue a similar field as me. You can use this blog to see what the work flow and type of assignments you'd be completing. If you have any further question or comments contact me at: dylancan204@gmail.com

Week 3 classes

This week in my classes I discussed a scenario with classmates about a clients blog and what information should be added into the blog. This client runs a pet store as well as trains and breeds dogs on the side. I personally suggested that the client includes both her pet store and her side hobbies. After posting my discussion I replied to classmates post and explained what I liked about their discussions.  I also read material over how to properly design a site and use functions such as search engine keywords. Having digestible facts, and your important information easily accessible on the top of your webpage is important so users can easily find the information they are looking for. You should also use short and informing headers that catch readers attention, and have information organized in easy to read bullet points for the web users. These designs are important because when users visit webpages they typically scan the pages content, rather than reading it, so they can receive...
